Well I'm a wife of 14 years to my Navy husband. We've travelled all around this great country in the 16 years of his service. We are high school sweethearts and still in love today. Makes you sick I know!
I have a 3 year old daugher who thinks she is 13, and a 5.5 month old little boy. I've been working from home since 2006 for a software company. Although I have this wonderful flexibility my job is very phone intensive and requires some travel therefore I must put both kids in daycare.
This is why this blog was born! See, being a WAHM allows you to do some housework in between your breaks at work. Although, remember you are a WORK at home mom, don't forget the work part! I think it is hard for people who don't work from home to understand you aren't just sitting around doing nothing all day! If anything I find that I end up working TOO much and never leave my computer to walk the 20 feet to the kitchen to grab a bite to eat. Too many times I have found myself at the end of the day, picking up the kids from daycare at 5:30 pm wondering, what the heck is for dinner! Then I would stand in front of the fridge or the pantry trying to figure out the fastest way to defrost a solid block of meat or how to disguise another pasta dish!
Well last year I was introduced to a company called Homemade Gourmet and it changed my relationship with dinner time! No longer did I dread the 5:30 pm hour each day but actually found it satisfying as I smelled the scent of dinner permeating the house all day while I worked. Last year I was pregnant with my son and raising a very head strong 2 year old girl and with morning sickness and terrible fatigue the LAST thing I wanted to plan was dinner! Well with Homemade Gourmet they make menu planning easy. I fell in love with their 4 meals in 4 minutes collection and all the recipes on their website. The Homemade in a Hurry collection let me still get dinner on the table in 30 minutess or less!
I started sharing this with others and the rest is history. My next goal is to replace my income with Homemade Gourmet so I can be home full time with my wonderful kids!
